Journal

The contents list for the current Journal can be seen on the Blog page, and comments on any of the articles can be made either there or by the contribution form below.

Equine Behaviour

The Journal of the Equine Behaviour Forum

Our Journal is published four times a year in March, June, September and December.  The content depends entirely on contributions from members – these range from scientific studies on aspects of equine behaviour to anecdotes and stories about members’ own animals; letters; views and experiences; requests for and offers of help; book reviews and much more.

Contributions do not have to be professionally written and any material is welcome, from a full article or scientific paper to a short comment or query.

If you wish to contribute an article/comment for consideration, please click on the button below.

Guest articles from non-members who are professionally involved in equine behaviour are also welcome.  Unfortunately we cannot pay a fee for this, but we do offer you the opportunity to advertise your business in the issue in which your article appears.  If you would like to discuss an article – or have an idea for one – please contact the Editor of Equine Behaviour, Alison Averis.

We are also always looking for cover photos showing some aspect of equine behaviour. Please send any images you have to the editor (see above) and your horse could be a cover star!

The Journal is produced as a printed hard copy for those paying the standard subscription rates.  However, it is also available as e-mailed pdf files at a reduced subscription rate: to compensate for the inconvenience of having to read the journal on a computer screen or print it out yourself, we supply the electronic version with colour photographs, live links and you will also receive it sooner than you would a printed copy.
